Doodle’s free plan in 2026, explained.

Doodle is still free, but the free plan gives you one group poll per account, with up to 10 time slots, and ads for you and everyone who answers. You need a Doodle account to finish making the poll, and the people you invite give a name and an email to vote.

In short

Updated

Doodle’s free plan covers one group poll per account, with up to 10 time slots in it. Organizers and the people answering both see ads. You can start a poll without signing in, but Doodle asks you to create an account before it’s finished. People answering don’t need an account, though they type a name and an email. Deadlines, reminders and sending the invite from Doodle are on Pro, which is $15 a month or $11 a month billed yearly. Free polls can be deleted 30 days after their last date or last visit, whichever is later.

Doodle details from doodle.com/en/premium and the Doodle help center, Rallly’s from rallly.co and its docs, checked October 5, 2026. Names are trademarks of their owners; implements isn’t affiliated with them. Doodle Pro is $15 a month, or $11 a month billed yearly.

What does Doodle Pro add?

Unlimited group polls with up to 1,000 time slots, no ads, deadlines, automatic reminders, and sending the invite from Doodle. It’s $15 a month, or $11 a month billed yearly. Team is $20 a month, or $16 billed yearly, per seat.

What’s the best free Doodle alternative?

For picking between dates, Rallly: free, open source, no ads and no accounts. For finding an hour that suits everyone, Crab Fit. Both delete old events after a while, so note the result somewhere you’ll keep.

The free plan

What does Doodle’s free plan include?

One group poll, one booking page, one 1:1 and basic sign-up sheets: that’s the list on Doodle’s pricing page. Its help center fills in the rest. A free poll takes up to 10 time slots, and Pro raises that to 1,000.

Ads come with it. Doodle lists “No ads for organizers or participants” as a paid feature, so on Free the people answering see them too.

Some settings are on Pro only: a deadline after which nobody can vote, automatic reminders for people who haven’t answered, adding or removing participants, and hiding participants’ details. Sending the invite by email from Doodle is on Pro as well. On Free you copy the link and send it yourself.

Accounts

Do you need a Doodle account?

To make a poll, yes. Doodle lets you start setting one up without signing in, then asks you to sign up before you can finish. Its help center puts it plainly: completing an event “now requires the creation of a free or paid account.”

To answer, no. People you invite don’t need an account, but they type a name and an email before their vote is saved. If you’d rather nobody hands over an email, that’s worth knowing before you send the link.

Old polls

How long does Doodle keep a free poll?

Doodle may delete a free user’s poll once it counts as inactive: 30 days after the last date in the poll, or 30 days after it was last opened, whichever comes later. Opening it resets the clock. A deleted poll can’t be recovered.

Pro polls are kept while the subscription lasts. If Pro ends, the free rule applies to them again.

The app

What happened to the Doodle app?

In June 2025 Doodle said it was pausing its mobile app on the App Store and Google Play, to build a new one from scratch. An app already on a phone keeps working, without support. Doodle’s page about the change, updated September 23, 2026, still points people to doodle.com in a phone or computer browser, where it can be saved to the home screen, and gives no date for the new app.

Free alternatives

Free alternatives to Doodle

  • Rallly is free and open source, with no ads, and nobody needs an account to make a poll or to vote. Picking the final date works on every plan. Free polls are deleted once every date has passed and nothing has happened for 30 days; Pro keeps them, for $10 a month or $72 a year per seat.
  • Crab Fit is free and open source too. It shows a heat map of when everyone is free, which suits finding a time of day more than choosing between dates. Events are deleted after three months without activity.

One more option

Where Date Poll fits

Date Poll is ours, and it isn’t free: it comes with implements, $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year for every tool, with no ads. The people you ask tap their name and answer Yes, Maybe or No for each date, with no account and no email.

It picks days and date ranges, like a whole weekend, not hours, so for a meeting time Doodle or Crab Fit fits better. For a trip or a weekend away, once a date wins, Trip Split can start the trip with the dates and the people who said Yes or Maybe.

Questions

Questions people ask.

Short answers, in plain words. Something missing? Ask Support and we’ll add it here.

Is Doodle free?
Yes, with limits. The free plan has one group poll with up to 10 time slots, and ads. Pro removes the ads and the limits for $15 a month, or $11 a month billed yearly.
How many time slots can a free Doodle poll have?
Ten. Doodle Pro allows up to 1,000. Doodle’s own advice is that five options are usually enough to find a date.
Do people need a Doodle account to vote?
No. They give a name and an email when they submit their vote.
Does Doodle delete old polls?
Free polls, yes, once they’re inactive: 30 days after the last date in the poll or the last time it was opened, whichever is later. Deleted polls can’t be recovered.
Is there still a Doodle app?
Not in the app stores. Doodle paused its app in June 2025 and says to use doodle.com in a browser until its new app is ready.
