implements is one subscription for nine small web tools that install like apps. Rootless Agency builds and runs it. The idea came from Xhulio Jamaku.
The idea
Too many subscriptions for tools you barely use.
It started with a pile of subscriptions. Each was for a small app, the kind you open for one group trip, one contract or one invoice, and each one wanted a monthly or yearly plan for something used once in a while.
Xhulio Jamaku kept signing up for them and got tired of it. The tools weren’t the problem. The way they were sold was.
So the idea turned it around: bring the small tools together and sell them as one. Use one tool in June, another in July and a third in August, and one subscription finally makes sense, for less than most of those apps charge on their own.
The name
An implement is a small tool you attach to something.
implement, noun.
A small tool made for one job, often one you attach to something bigger.
That’s the idea in one word. Each tool does one job well, and they all hang on the same board.
The whole brand is built around a pegboard: the place every tool hangs, where you find it, use it and put it back. In the product, your board is My tools: the tools you pin, in the order you like.
