Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. Plain codes are free to make and download, with no account and no watermark. Editable codes, which you can re-point after printing, come with QR Codes and an implements subscription.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. A plain code carries the address or the Wi-Fi details in its squares, so there’s nothing in between to switch off. It works for as long as the address in it does.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The code is made in your browser, so the password never leaves this device. Anyone who can see the code can join, though, so use it for a guest network.
SVG or PNG?
SVG for anything printed: it has no fixed size, so it’s sharp on a sticker or a shop window. PNG for screens and documents, from 512 to 2048 pixels.
Can I change where a code goes after printing?
Not a plain code: what it says is in the squares, so a new address means a new code. Editable codes go through a short link you can re-point. They run on our server, so they come with membership.
Can I put a logo in the middle?
Yes. Pick High error correction, which rebuilds the squares a logo covers. Each code is read back before it downloads, so you know it scans.
How big should I print a QR code?
About a tenth of the distance people will scan from, and at least 2 cm (¾ in) wide. That’s a rule of thumb, not a standard, so test it where it’ll hang.
Are the codes I make kept anywhere?
Only on this page until you leave it, so you can download one again. Nothing is sent to us or saved in your browser.
